Cross-Cultural Jam Sessions

Exploring Culture Through Storytelling, Conversations, Multilingualism, and the Arts

Sententia Vera, LLC is excited to announce the relaunch of Cross-Cultural Jam Sessions, a developing program with a vibrant series of sessions that invites the community to explore the richness of culture through storytelling, restorative conversations, multilingual experiences, and the arts. Hosted by Teresa, Chief Culturist at Sententia Vera, LLC, these sessions celebrate the diverse ways in which we express, understand, and connect with each other.

At the heart of Cross-Cultural Jam Sessions is the art of storytelling—a way for people from different backgrounds to share their experiences, history, and unique perspectives. Each session creates a space for voices to be heard and stories to unfold, engaging individuals who are eager to listen, learn, and share their own cultural narratives. Multilingual storytelling is a key feature, allowing stories to be told in different languages and giving participants a deeper appreciation for the nuances and beauty of language.

“Stories, conversations, and the arts help us explore the world beyond our immediate experiences,” says Teresa, Chief Culturist and Sententia Vera, LLC founder. “With our Cross-Cultural Jam Sessions, I aim to create a space where we can celebrate the art of storytelling, listen to music that crosses borders, and have conversations that bridge differences and invite new perspectives.”

These sessions are also a platform for exploring the world through music and the arts. From live performances to interactive activities, each gathering becomes an immersive experience that invites participants to engage with the rhythms, melodies, and creative expressions of various cultures. It’s a chance to experience the power of storytelling to connect us across languages and backgrounds.

In addition to storytelling and the arts, Cross-Cultural Jam Sessions delve into conversations from a diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) foundation, what it means—and, just as importantly, what they don’t. These discussions offer a brave space to explore how DEI principles shape our experiences and what they mean in different cultural contexts. Participants are encouraged to ask questions, challenge their own assumptions, and learn together.

A podcast series accompanies these sessions! These rich cultural conversations and stories can travel with you. Each episode of the podcast offers a fresh perspective and a new cultural story, allowing you to continue the exploration of language, art, and experience from anywhere.

What to Expect from Cross-Cultural Jam Sessions:

    • Live Storytelling & Conversations: Enjoy sessions where storytelling becomes a bridge between cultures, with multilingual stories that invite you to experience the world through different languages and perspectives.
    • Music & Arts as Cultural Expression: Engage with music performances and interactive art activities that bring the creative spirit of diverse cultures to life.
    • Restorative Conversations: Join open discussions about equity and inclusion, reflecting on how these values shape our community and our cultural experiences.
    • Podcast Series: Take the journey with you through Teresa’s new podcast, featuring stories, conversations, and art that continue the cultural exploration beyond each in-person session.

Whether attending in person at the Cultural Hub, joining online, or tuning in to the podcast, Cross-Cultural Jam Sessions promise a unique and enriching experience every time. It’s a place where language, art, music, and conversation come together, offering a deeper understanding of the world and each other.

I invite you to join us as we explore the art of storytelling, celebrate multilingualism, and connect through music and conversation. At Cross-Cultural Jam Sessions, culture is the jam of the day, and we can’t wait to share it with you.
